However when we look at the motivations behind this term, we see there are many more ways in which people will want to content shift.
Those that have occurred to us, in our workdays include:
- I had a note in Evernote, but what to publish it in Facebook
- I had an email but want to save that as a google docs file
- I had an sms sent to me which is so funny I want to tweet it.
We believe that there will be an increasing demand from users to be able to more their content (notes, emails, meetings) from one application to another seamlessly.
Because of this belief we have content shifting in the long-term plan for Unified Inbox. So Unified Inbox becomes the one application (for either personal or team use) that allows you to take a piece of content and work with it in the most appropriate application. For example:
- take an email and turn it into a milestone on a team project in a project planning app
- grab a customer wallpost from your Facebook page and turn it into an action item for another team member
- turn an sms into a meeting reminder
In your current workday, what content have you wanted or needed to shift between applications or devices? How easy or difficult was it?
